LY-404187 is a selective positive allosteric modulator of AMPA receptors. It causes enhanced cognitive function in a variety of ways, including augmenting synaptic activity due to direct potentiation of AMPA receptor function, increasing neurotrophin expression, and modulating glutamatergic transmission.
