Description
Arginine N-Methyltransferase Inhibitor-1, also known as AMI-1, is an inhibitor of protein arginine methyltransferases (PRMTs). PRMTs are a class of epigenetic modified enzymes that are overexpressed in some cancers, responsible for key functions in tumor development. It has shown antiproliferative effects in both mouse sarcoma 180 and human osteosarcoma U2OS cells. It inhibits gastric cancer, possibly through the downregulation of eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E and the targeting of type II PRMT5.
