Description

Vancomycin is a glycopeptide antibiotic originally produced by Acolatopsis orientalis. Vancomycin exhibits antibacterial activity against gram positive bacteria such as Clostridium and Staphylococcus by binding D-Ala-D-Ala and inhibiting cell wall synthesis.
