Description

HT-2 toxin is a trichothecene mycotoxin initially produced by Fusarium and is also a metabolite of T2 toxin. HT-2 toxin is often produced in grains used as livestock feed and in the production of products for human consumption such as cereal. HT-2 toxin passes across the blood-brain barrier more easily than T2 toxin, exhibiting neurotoxicity by inducing apoptosis.
