Description

Etretinate is an aromatic retinoid that exhibits anti-inflammatory and anticancer activities. Etretinate was previously clinically used to treat psoriasis but has since been withdrawn due to high incidence of birth defects; it is currently considered teratogenic. This compound acts as an agonist at RARs and RXRs. Etretinate shows some potential in the treatment of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma.
