Description
Pseudoprotodioscin is a steroidal saponin originally found in species of Tribulus, Trigonella, and Smilax. Pseudoprotodioscin exhibits anti-inflammatory and anticancer activities. This compound inhibits melanogenesis in melanoma cells and inhibits production of inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α in THP-1 cells. Pseudoprotodioscin displays mild cytotoxicity across several cancer cell lines.
