Description

Verapamil is an inhibitor of L-type voltage-gated Ca2+ channels that exhibits antihypertensive, anti-arrhythmic, and cardioprotective activities; it is classified as a class IV anti-arrhythmic. Verapamil treats hypertension and ventricular arrhythmia. In experiencing myocardial infarction, verapamil decreases secondary infarction rates.
