Description

Vincristine is a vinca alkaloid found in Catharanthus that exhibits immunosuppressive and anticancer chemotherapeutic activities. Vincristine is an anti-mitotic that binds tubulin and inhibits microtubule polymerization; it is clinically used to treat lymphomas and leukemias and is one component of the CHOP chemotherapy cocktail. In melanoma cells, vincristine increases activation of AMPK and inhibition of mTORC1 signaling.
