Description

Fenoldopam is a benzazepine derivative that acts as a partial agonist at D1 receptors; it may also inhibit α1-adrenergic receptors. Fenoldopam exhibits vasodilatory, antihypertensive, and natriuretic activities. In vivo, fenoldopam decreases blood pressure, afterload, and blood flow; it also inhibits NaCl reabsorption in the thick ascending limb, promoting Na+ excretion.
