Description

Granuliberin R is an amphiphillic antimicrobial peptide (AMP) originally found in amphibian skin. In mast cells, granuliberin R induces histamine release and increases K+ efflux. Granuliberin also inhibits basal gingival epithelial cell proliferation in animal models, potentially through a mechanism involving suppression of mitotic activity.
