Description

Hexamethonium bromide is a non-depolarizing neuromuscular junction (NMJ) blocker that acts as an antagonist at pre-ganglionic nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs). Hexamethonium bromide was previously used to treat hypertension as an inhibitor of sympathetic nervous system activity but is no longer clinically used.
