Description

Ibandronate is a long acting third generation bisphosphonate that exhibits anti-resorptive, anti-osteoporotic, and anti-angiogenic activities. Ibandronate increases bone mineral density, decreases resorption, and prevents fractures and post-menopausal osteoporosis. In vitro, ibandronate increases proliferation of osteoblasts and decreases activity of osteoclasts; it may also inhibit angiogenesis.
