Description
This pentapeptide is equivalent to a sequence found on the B1 chain of laminin (929-933); it exhibits anticancer and anti-metastatic activities. Like other laminin peptide, this sequence can be used in combination with chemotherapeutics to deliver the drug to target tumor tissues. This peptide increases collagen type 1 synthesis in fibroblasts. In prostate cancer cells, this peptide decreases the mitochondrial membrane potential, inhibits ATP synthesis, and increases caspase 9 activity, inhibiting cell migration and growth.
