Description

Pyrantel pamoate is a mixture of pyrantel, a thiophene, and pamoic acid. This combination exhibits anti-parasitic/anti-helminthic activities. Pyrantel pamoate acts as a depolarizing neuromuscular junction blocker, activating nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) at the neuromuscular junction and inducing muscular paralysis. Pyrantel pamoate is used to treat worm infections in humans and animals.
