Description

Atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) is a cardiomodulatory peptide that binds the natriuretic peptide receptor type A (NPR-A), increasing levels of cGMP and activating cGMP-dependent kinases. ANP exhibits vasodilatory/hypotensive, diuretic, and natriuretic activities, increasing perfusion and decreasing blood pressure in several models. ANP may also exhibit anticancer benefit, targeting the Ras-MEK-ERK signaling pathway.
