Kassinin is a tachykinin neuropeptide originally found in amphibian skin; it binds neurokinin 2 (NK2) receptors and displays gastrointestinal motility modulating activity. Kassinin stimulates ion transport across skin membranes. Kassinin also induces contractions in bladder muscle and inhibits both gastric acid secretion and gastric emptying.
