Description

1,4-Benzoquinone is a precursor used in the synthesis of hydroquinone and is also used as a hydrogen acceptor and oxidant. 1,4-Benzoquinone exhibits anti-inflammatory and antibiotic activities. 1,4-Benzoquinone inhibits 5-lipoxygenase and prevents leukotriene synthesis. Additionally, this compound displays antibacterial efficacy against Staphylococcus, Salmonella, and Bacillus.
