Description
15,16-Dehydrocafestol is a diterpene found in roasted coffee. This compound is a dehydration product of cafestol, which inhibits increases in pro-fibrotic cytokine TGF-β in models of liver damage and induces apoptosis through regulation of Sp1 signaling. 15,16-Dehydrocafestol exhibits anti-fibrotic, hepatoprotective, and anticancer activities. It may also induce apoptosis in malignant pleural mesothelioma cells.
