Description
2’,3’-Dideoxyinosine is a purine (guanosine) nucleoside analog that exhibits antiviral activity through the direct inhibition of reverse transcriptase. 2’,3’-Dideoxyinosine acts as a chain terminator and is one component of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) regimens used in the treatment of HIV and AIDS. 2’,3’-Dideoxyinosine also inhibits the humoral immune response in vivo, targeting B lymphocytes.
