Description

C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP) is an endogenous peptide expressed in the central nervous system, bone, and vasculature; CNP-22 is a mature form of CNP that is found predominantly in plasma. CNP exhibits vasodilatory, natriuretic, diuretic, and cardioprotective activities. CNP also exhibits anti-fibrotic potential, regulating cardiac hypertrophy and remodeling. This peptide inhibits the renin-angiotensin system, increasing endothelial permeability, and plays a role in bone growth.
