Description

Desmopressin is a synthetic peptide derivative of arginine vasopressin that binds and activates vasopressin-2 receptors (V2Rs). Desmopressin exhibits pro-coagulant/pro-thrombotic and antidiuretic activities and is clinically used to treat bleeding disorders such as hemophilia. Desmopressin enhances platelet pro-coagulant activity and increase platelet-dependent thrombin generation in a Na+/Ca2+-dependent manner.
