Dynasore is an inhibitor of dynamin, a protein involved in membrane fission during endocytosis; it displays anti-resorptive, anti-osteoporotic, and antiviral activities. Dynasore inhibits bone resorption by preventing actin ring formation in osteoclasts. This compound also suppresses viral entry and infection of herpes simplex virus (HSV). Dynasore also inhibits transport of viral proteins from the nucleus to the cytosol by preventing co-localization of VP5 and dynamin.
