Description
Eledoisin is a tachykinin analog of substance P. Eledoisin binds neurokinin receptors, exhibiting vasodilatory and bronchoconstrictive activities. At low doses, eledoisin stimulates gastric acid secretion; at high doses, this process is inhibited. Eledoisin causes vasodilation in vivo and induces gastric contractions. Additionally, this peptide contracts smooth muscles, such as those in the bladder.
