Description

Gentamycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic originally produced by Micromonospora. Gentamycin binds the ribosomal 30S subunit, preventing formation of the initiation complex, suppressing translocation, and inhibiting protein synthesis. Gentamycin displays antibacterial efficacy against some gram positive bacteria and many gram negative bacteria.
