Description

Hydroquinone is a basic phenol structure that is commercially used in skin whitening treatments and photography development; it displays oxidoreductive activity. Hydroquinone was initially produced by fire beetles and is also found in propolis and castorerum. Hydroquinone may inhibit topoisomerase II and induce DNA damage.
