Description

Thymic factor (thymulin) is an endogenous peptide that modulates immune and neuroendocrine signaling pathways. Thymic factor induces immunoneutralization and decreases secretion of prolactin and growth hormone (GH). In animal models of experimental autoimmune encephalitis (EAE), thymic factor prevents activation of p38 MAPK and NF-κB and release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, decreasing overall disease severity.
