Description

Alyssin is a sulfinyl analog of sulforaphane, an isothiocyanate (ITC). Alyssin exhibits antioxidative and anticancer activity. This compound inhibits the growth of colon cancer cells in vitro and induces phase II enzymes, increasing Nrf2 activity. Alyssin also decreases enzymatic metabolism of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), decreasing carcinogenic risk and displaying potential chemopreventive benefit.
