Description

Catch-relaxing peptide (CARP) is a peptide originally found in mollusks that exhibits neuromodulatory and cardiomodulatory activity. CARP decreases heart rate and modulates muscle contractility in vivo. Additionally, CARP decreases slowly-inactivating Ca2+ and Ca2+-activated K+ currents in snail neurons.
