Description
Doxifluridine is a pyrimidine nucleoside analog that exhibits anticancer chemotherapeutic activity. Doxifluridine is a prodrug of 5-fluorouracil that is activated by thymidine phosphorylase. In vivo, doxifluridine inhibits thymidylate synthase and clinically, it is used to treat various forms of cancer. This compound induces apoptosis in gastric carcinoma models and downregulates expression of FasL and PD-ECGF.
