Description
Hexaconazole is a triazole antifungal pesticide; it acts as a demethylation inhibitor, preventing sterol biosynthesis and disrupting membrane function. Hexaconazole may also display other activities, as it induces production of apigenin-7-glucoside and other antioxidative compounds in chamomile plants and exhibits cytotoxic and mutagenic effects when administered to lymphocytes and bone marrow cells in vitro. Additionally, hexaconazole inhibits the dehydrogenase system and growth of nitrogen-fixing bacteria in soil.
