Description
Indomethacin is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that exhibits anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antipyretic, tocolytic, and anti-metastatic activities. Indomethacin is a non-selective COX-1 and COX-2 inhibitor that is clinically used to treat headaches; like other NSAIDs, indomethacin may induce intestinal damage or gastric lesions. Indomethacin delays premature labor in clinical settings by decreasing uterine contractility. In vitro, indomethacin decreases cancer cell migration by suppressing Ca2+ influx.
