Description

Carmofur is a pyrimidine analog and derivative of fluorouracil; it exhibits anticancer chemotherapeutic and anti-metastatic activities. Carmofur inhibits thymidylate synthase and acid ceramidase, preventing DNA replication. This compound is clinically used to treat curatively resected colon cancer and breast cancer.
