Description
Manidipine is a dihydropyridine inhibitor of L-type and T-type voltage-gated Ca2+ channels that decreases systemic blood pressure, glomerular capillary pressure, and renal vascular resistance, and increases renal blood flow in spontaneously hypertensive rats. In addition to its antihypertensive activity, manidipine also exhibits anti-inflammatory benefit; in epithelial cells and macrophages, manidipine inhibits activation of NF-κB and production of IL-6 and IL-8.
