Description

Neostigmine is a reversible inhibitor of acetylcholine esterase (AChE) that acts peripherally only. Neostigmine is clinically used to reverse the effects of neuromuscular junction (NMJ) blockers and to treat muscular symptoms of myasthenia gravis. Neostigmine induces muscular contractions in muscle tissue and improves overall muscle tone.
