Description

Ractopamine is an agonist at β1/2-adrenergic receptors that is used in livestock to increase muscle mass and decrease body fat. In vivo, administration of ractopamine decreases retroperitoneal and epididymal/parametrial fat mass and increases adipose tissue apoptosis.
