Description

Luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH or Gonadotropin-releasing hormone [GnRH]) is an endogenous peptide hormone that binds the GnRH receptor, stimulating secretion of reproductive hormones (such as luteinizing hormone [LH
] and follicle-stimulating hormone [FSH]) from the pituitary gland. Analogs of GnRH are clinically used to treat hormone-dependent diseases such as prostate and breast cancer, hyperplasia, and endometriosis.
