Description
Angiotensin III (AT III) is the smallest, least active peptide fragment of precursor angiotensinogen. AT III is an endogenous peptide produced by the degradation of AT II by angiotensinase. AT III has 40% of the vasoconstrictive pressor activity of AT II but increases aldosterone secretion and mean arterial pressure through activity at the AT II type 1 (AT1) receptor.
