Description
Neuromedin B is an endogenous bombesin-related peptide that binds BB receptors, displaying the greatest affinity for the BB1 receptor. Neuromedin B exhibits anorexigenic and cardiomodulatory activities, decreasing food intake, inducing bradycardia, and slowing gastric emptying in vivo. Neuromedin B also activates ERK1/2 signaling, increasing osteoblast proliferation and bone formation. Additionally, neuromedin B increases secretion of luteinizing hormone (LH) and gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) in vitro and in vivo.
