Description
Neuromedin C is an endogenous bombesin-like peptide fragment of gastrin releasing peptide (GRP) that exhibits anorexigenic activity. Neuromedin C increases latency to feeding and decreases food intake and feeding time in vivo. Neuromedin C also induces scratching behavior by activating BB2 receptors and causing mast cell degranulation. Additionally, this peptide displays cardiomodulatory activity, inducing bradycardia and delaying gastric emptying.
