Description
Pyridostatin is a G-quadruplex ligand that induces conformation changes in telomere-G-quadruplex complexes and stimulates double-stranded DNA breakage; it also alters telomere function. Pyridostatin displays antiviral and anticancer activities. In vitro, this compound decreases synthesis of Epstein-Barr virus-encoded nuclear antigen 1. In cancer cells, pyridostatin suppresses cellular viability and growth.
