Description
WWL70 is an inhibitor of the serine hydrolase alpha/beta hydrolase domain 6 (ABHD6). ABHD6 is able to hydrolyze 2-arachidonoyl glycerol(2-AG) to arachidonic acid. WWL70 inhibits this process from occurring, resulting in anti-inflammatory and anti-diabetic results. WWL70 was used to determine the role of ABHD6 in diet induced obese mice. Inhibition of ABHD6 resulted in lower weight gain and less incidence of diabetes in mice. In an LPS system, WWL70 was found to reduce the amount of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins.
