Asunaprevir is an antiviral bioactive small molecule. It has been found to inhibit cytopathic effects in Vero E6 cells, decrease virion release from infected cells, and inhibit propagation in lung Clu-3 cells, after infection with SARS-CoV-2. Asunaprevir is a second-generation NS3 protease inhibitor affective against HCV genotypes 1 and 4.
