Description
Oxybutynin is an anti-cholinergic compound that inhibits muscarinic acetylcholine receptor (mAChR) signaling. Oxybutynin is used clinically to treat overactive bladder; alteration of mAChR signaling decreases afferent activity of C-fibers and Aδ fibers. Oxybutynin also downregulates stretch-induced c-Jun signaling and growth of bladder smooth muscle cells.
