Uniconazole is a triazole plant growth retardant that inhibits production of gibberellins, which are involved in stress tolerance, dormancy, and flowering, through inhibition of abscisic acid 8’-hydroxylase. Uniconazole also inhibits Cyp450 enzymes and biosynthesis of trans-zeatin. The S-(+) enantiomer of uniconazole appears to be more active than the R-(-) enantiomer.
