Description
Mdivi-1 is a quinazolinone inhibitor of mitochondrial division that prevents mitochondrial fission and exhibits neuroprotective, cardioprotective, and anti-metastatic properties. In spinal cord injury models, Mdivi-1 decreases neuronal apoptosis and ameliorates motor dysfunction. In animal models of myocardial infarction, this compound decreases oxidative damage, enhances myocardial performance, and improves overall survival rates. Mdivi-1 also inhibits hypoxia-induced migration in breast cancer cells and improves the activity of other co-administered chemotherapeutics.
