Description

Ochratoxin A is a mycotoxin initially produced by Aspergillus and Penicillum that exhibits carcinogenic, neurotoxic, and pro-fibrotic activities. Ochratoxin A is occasionally found as a contaminant in food and livestock feed. In vivo, ochratoxin A inhibits glial cell proliferation, induces kidney damage and collagen formation, and potentially increases the development of cancerous formations.
